October 19th : Alun Griffiths (MW) - War of the Worls in Wine - Old World vs. New World
We were delighted to welcome back to the club Alun Griffiths, Master of Wine,
to present a comparative tasting of Old World vs New World in wines.
Alun is an excellent speaker and selector of wines. He has been in the wine trade for 43 years,
first as a wine buyer for Fortnum and Mason then Harrods, Then with Berry Brothers and Rudd
as head of their wine division. After a period as international director with a major Chinese importer,
he retired in 2020 and now consults, educates and judges in all matter of wine.
Alun in not only a MW but also sets their MW exams as well as judging wine competitions. He is a wizard at food and wine pairing.
Alun has presented to our club several times in the last few years and always gets rave reviews.
