February 16th - Mimi Avery - The History of Averys Through Wine
On 16th February, we welcomed Mimi Avery, who styles herself Brand Ambassador for the ancient and distinguished Bristol wine shipper of that name. Mimi is the 5th generation of her family to lead the company and by jove does she know her wines.
The theme was The History of Averys through Wines. 32 club members signed up and attended on our new tasting day of Friday in St Michaels Church Cottage.
Mimi's choice was a selection of wines that Averys source from their preferred suppliers and offer under their own label. Like choosing the house wine in a restaurant you can be confident that if the company is willing to stake its reputation on the wines that bear its name you are drinking a quality product.

It was an excellent selection, well presented and very enjoyable.
We sent Mimi away with a handsome set of wine orders.

Mimi was keen to advise us that Averys do regular tastings in their own cellars in Bristol.
