On 19th April, we welcomed our co-chair David Flanders to present to us at our meeting.

David has been exploring and enjoying wines for a considerable time and has presented to the society a number of times over the years. He has found interesting wines at good values and has been able to continue in that vein. The wines will be from various countries in the South American continent

David showed 8 wines, 4 red and 4 white from four different South American countries.

Whites:

• Chile -Undurraga Cauquenes Estate Maule Viognier-Roussanne-Marsanne 2022 - Wine Society - £8.50 - well liked, now out of stock

• Argentina - Quimay Valle de Uco Los Arboles Chardonnay 2021 - Wine Society - £9.95

• Chile - Matetic Corralillo San Antonio Gewürztraminer 2021 - Wine Society -£9.95 - very typical of the grape

• Uruguay - Bodegones  del Sur Albarino,  Garzon and Cerro del Torro vineyards – Atlantic Coast – 2020 - Auriol Wines (Hartly Whitney) £14.95

Reds:

• Chile - Concha y Toro Corte Lorena DO Cauquenes Carignan-Grenache 2021 - Wine Society - £9.45

• Chile - The Society's Exhibition DO Colchagua Andes Carmenère 2022 - Wine Society - £11.50

• Argentina - Weinert Carrascal Corte Tinto Mendoza 2019 - Wine Society - £12.50 - showing some age, but in delightful condition.

• Peru - Don Manuel Tacama Tannat 2019 - Caviste Wines (Overton & Odiham) - £33.00 - contrast with the previous wine of the same vintage - appearing still very young, but mature on the palate. For many attendees, their first taste of a wine from Peru.
